40k League

MaD 40k League - 10th Edition

 Hi all, 

10th edition is now with us, and so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to rekindle something we never got round to doing through 9th edition - a club league!


Thankfully this time I can beg, steal and borrow from someone slightly more professional who's organised something exactly like this so I don't have to worry about figuring out a format (yes I basically stole and then tweaked TTT's version)


So without further ado (what does that even mean?) here are the plans for the league.


  • Armies will be 2000pts

  • Players may not change faction during the league unless they sell the army, in which case all results with that faction will be voided and they must play everyone again. Sub factions (if they are a thing) must also remain fixed)

  • Players must submit their lists *before* their first game to one of the organisers via discord. Lists will then be posted simultaneously so there's no opportunity for tailoring.

  • Should a list be changed, it must also be submitted to one of the organisers prior to the next game being played, it will then be posted in the same way.

  • Players can only change their list if they lose their previous game.

  • Players must submit results online through a Google sheet link

  • Games will use the leviathan mission deck and any other rules that are in force when the league commences. Should GW introduce new matches play rules part way through the league, these will not be used (for consistency)

  • Any balance dataslates changing rules or points values will be used, and are an exception to the rule preventing lists being changed, however lists can only be altered by the smallest number of changes to meet the points limit.

  • No allies, this includes Knights.

  • Everyone plays each other once.

  • League position is determined by total league points, which comprises the victory point totals at the end of the game plus 100pts for a win and 25 for a draw. Ties will be determined by the result between those players

  • The league will commence in September and run until August - any games not completed by then will be forfeited and awarded zero points.

  • Top four places will then take part in play offs and a final to determine the winner.

  • There will (probably) be a trophy of some sort.

  • Discord usernames will be used in matches

  • Each player will be required to complete a profile prior to the league starting, this will be added to the discord so everyone knows who's who 

  • Players can be added into the league after it commences, provided they can catch up by the end of the season.

  • Any disputes will be resolved by one or more of the organisers, whose decision is final.
